Summer Reading

Reading regularly is an important part of becoming a life-long learner. LCCS students have a summer reading requirement that is due on or before the first day of school - Monday, August 24.

Lower School students who complete their summer reading and math will celebrate with the "How Wet Can You Get" event this fall. Track your progress on the summer reading log and submit it to your teacher. Requirements are passed on your 2019-2020 grade level.

  • K-1st: 60 minutes per week + 5 books from the recommended reading list
  • 2nd: 90 minutes per week + 5 books from the recommended reading list
  • 3rd-5th: 10 books (5 from the recommended reading list + 5 of your own choosing)
Lower School Recommended Reading List

 

Middle & Upper School students are required to read a minimum of two titles.One title must come from the recommended reading list. Students may choose any one title from this list that they have not previously read. The second title for their summer reading is a free choice. Students may pick any book as their second summer title as long as meets the free choice guidelines.
