Innovation Academies

Lancaster County Christian School promotes the exploration of students' God-crafted uniqueness and God-given passions through the Innovation Academies. The four academies focus on the areas of Leadership and Service, Entrepreneurship, STEM, and the Arts.

Middle & upper school students are able to explore each of the four academies through a variety of elective courses and once a month Academy Focus Days. Each Academy also has its own event to provide students with an opportunity to showcase their accomplishments in a related field throughout the year.

Academy Focus Days are a unique opportunity for LCCS students to spend one full day every month exploring an Academy of their choosing through large-scale interactive projects or trips. In the past, we have constructed trebuchets, painted murals, explored art museums, and converted a bus into a tiny house. 4-day students participate by completing a rigorous independent project in lieu of the Academy Focus Day culminating in a formal presentation examining their learning process throughout the year.

During the monthly Academy Focus Days, middle school students sample each of the four academies through open-ended, individual and group projects. 4-day students also explore the academies at home in self-directed projects generated by the student, approved by the teacher panel, and facilitated by the supervising parent. The goal of these days is to allow students to discover how God has uniquely wired them through the lens of each academy as they prepare for upper school Academy Focus Days.
